Description
The specific terms of reference for the mission included the following (see Annex 1):
(a) To evaluate the progress of implementation of both CPP and CMAP programme activities at the University regarding learning, teaching, equipment needs for effective implementation of the programme on the one hand, and interactions with key programme implementers and beneficiaries on the other, with a view to enhancing good working relationship as well as quality in programme implementation. Of key concern to the monitoring and outreach team were the following areas:
• Students completion rate/supervision
• Teaching staff
• Equipment needs
(b) And reconcile the AERC and the University’s financial management procedures and records with a view to harmonize the status of grants and build capacity among university personnel in adhering to contractual obligations. Special emphasis was placed on the following:
• Identification of challenges encountered by the University, if any, with accounting and management of AERC operating , thesis and institutional grants and agreeing on how best to address such challenges.
